
Summer String Experience 2022


Dear Parents and Participants of the SSE:
Thank you for signing up for 2022 SSE. In a few days you will be receiving more information including the start and end times for this Summer’s SSE. Sunday orientation starts at 2:30PM and includes a class or a rehearsal, depending on what program you are in. Monday to Thursday starts at 9:00AM sharp. Friday there is a dress rehearsal in the morning and concerts in the late afternoon/evening.
We look forward to seeing you all and making music together!

SUMMER STRING EXPERIENCE 2022

PROGRAMS AND FEES
(Times subject to change due to covid
restrictions)
Early-bird pricing: Save $50 per child!
Registration forms must be received no later than June 10.
• Violin, viola, cello or string bass
• Programs for both beginners and developing students
• Learn together and make new friends!
• Highly qualified faculty of professional musicians on staff.
• Enrichment music classes, crafts and other activities.
• Special Guests: Anita Buttemer (violin) and Geneviève Schirm-
Joyce (cello) from the Suzuki program in Waterloo, Ontario.
Refund Policy: Registration withdrawals prior to
June 20, 2021 will receive a refund of minus $25.00 (for costs)
and 50% of the program fee. Withdrawals after June 20 are not
eligible for a refund. Unless covid related.
Important Note:Children ages 8 and under must be accompanied
at all times by a parent or caregiver. For safety reasons, all
participants are required to stay together in groups between
classes, at breaks and over the lunch hour. Public health and U.
of S. guidelines due to COVID 19 must be strictly observed.
Beginner Program $235
($285 after June 10)
9:00am to 12:15pm
• For children age 3 and up with no prior lessons in violin or cello.
• Group classes offer a basic introduction to the instrument, and
preliminary skills for playing.
• Movement classes also add to the fun!
• Crafts and recreational activities.
• Highly recommended for those interested in enrolling their
children in Suzuki string lessons in the fall.
• A limited number of cellos are available free of charge.
Violinists and violists rent their own instruments. Having a
properly sized instrument for your child is important! Call for
details.
Parents are required to attend with student under the age of 8
Half-Day Program $245
($295 after June 10)
9:00am to 12:15pm
• For children who already play violin, viola or cello and are not
yet fluent in reading music and not ready to play in an orchestra.
• Small and large group classes in violin, viola or cello.
• Movement or rhythm classes and a craft / recreation period are
included.
Full-Day Program $335
($385 after June 10)
9:00am to 3:40pm
• For those who have played or are ready to play in an orchestra.
• Technique, Suzuki repertoire and percussion classes in the morning.
• Orchestra and Sectional Rehearsals in the afternoon.
• Participants must have experience reading sheet music.
Sinfonia Program $385
($435 after June 12)
9:00am to 3:40pm
• For more advanced players, Suzuki book 4 and up or equivalent.
• String quartet coaching sessions.
• More advanced string orchestra.
• Participants must have experience reading sheet music.
• Other class TBA.
The directors of the Summer String Experience wish to thank the

String Experience possible. We would also like to thank the
